Over the past 20 years I have worked as a composer, music producer and music pedagogist.

I hold a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Sibelius Academy, specializing in film composition and classical singing. I started learning piano at 11, and it soon became my primary tool for musical expression, along with classical and contemporary singing.

After completing my first professional composition for a short film, I realized that the most intriguing form of expression was creating music for moving images. Cinema can make a piece of music shine, and transform the way we listen to it. This transformation works both ways.

I understand film music as a crucial element that can enhance or add narrative value to a story. I pay special attention to film projects where the music speaks about the psychology of the characters and their personal journey, the story’s contextual, social or historic background, adding layers of meaning into the film’s narrative and atmosphere. The film becomes an engaging experience where sound, music and storytelling are closely intertwined. A composition takes us back to the film and is often indistinguishable from it.
